unitary backing

A heavy application of latex is applied to the back of the carpet, and a secondary scrim is not used.

unlevel dye application

Unlevel dye application occurs when more/less dye is applied to various lengthwise areas across the width of the carpet. This can be caused by a number of dye equipment malfunctions.The area of unlevel dye application may be darker or lighter in color depending upon the type of malfunction.
