By Michael Hilton

If you have been shopping for hardwood flooring, you've probably come across the name BR-111. BR-111 has become one of those iconic names, like Stainmaster for carpet, that many consumers know, but few really understand the meaning of BR-111.

Exotic Hardwood Flooring

BR-111 is actually a producer of exotic hardwood flooring, but they have done a superb job of marketing their brand name. While BR-111 is more than just marketing hype, they also manufacture some of the most beautiful hardwood flooring and engineered wood flooring styles available. BR-111 is the largest flooring manufacturing operation in South America and BR-111 manufactures more than 25 exotic hardwood flooring species. Many of the species used in BR-111 manufacturing are Brazilian hardwoods, which comprise some of the hardest wood species in the world. BR-111 has one of the most diverse selections of imported species in the world.

BR-111 continues to be the primary choice in hardwood flooring by architects and interior design professionals for commercial facilities, where severe traffic levels can humble even the finest flooring material. BR-111 produces both finished hardwood and unfinished hardwood. All BR-111 hardwood flooring is kiln dried and precision milled to exacting standards using the industry's most up-to-date manufacturing technology.

Additionally, BR-111 Hardwood flooring utilizes a special coating process which resists sunlight fading common to many varieties of hardwood. In many instances, areas which have been covered by area rugs or furniture may appear darker than areas exposed to sunlight. BR-111 minimizes this fading by utilizing a tough UV cured aluminum oxide finish. This advance finish provide BR-111 with the properties necessary for both residential and commercial installations.

Engineered Flooring

In addition to hardwood plank flooring, BR-111 recently entered the engineered flooring arena, unveiling Casanova Engineered, a premium thick-sawn flooring line featuring 10 exotic wood species. BR-111™ Engineered, a cost-effective 5/16" hardwood flooring, includes 10 exotic and domestic species.

Engineered wood is similar to laminate flooring in function and appearance, but rather than utilizing plastic materials, (Laminate flooring) engineered wood typically utilizes a combination of wood surface material and plastic laminates underneath. Laminate flooring uses no wood products and are constructed entirely of plastic laminate materials.

Br-111 has become the most sought-after hardwood flooring line in the market today. While brand names such as Bruce Hardwood and Mohawk Hardwood can be found throughout the market-place; it is BR-111 that most hardwood wholesalers want to display in their showrooms. Hardwood floors from BR-111 provide natural beauty, superior durability and flexible design options for commercial or residential applications. The company's flagship line, Indusparquet, is available in 3/4in solid unfinished or prefinished flooring and features ten exotic wood species. BR-111 has also added innovative 5/16in and 7/16in solid flooring to its Indusparquet line.

BR-111 has entered the engineered flooring arena, unveiling BR-111 Engineered, a cost-effective 5/16? hardwood flooring alternative that doesn't sacrifice quality. With 10 exotic and domestic species, BR-111 Engineered is the most complete line of exotic engineered hardwood flooring currently available on the market.
